Huge Colorful Blooms for Macklemore Event!

Hi Sweet Friends~ I hope you're enjoying your Spring!
I wanted to say hello and share a little of what Fanciful has been up to lately..
Here's some Huge Colorful Blooms I recently created for a Macklemore & Ryan Lewis event!
Roth Capital was celebrating their 25th corporate event at the beautiful Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel, CA. I was so excited when I found out Macklemore was playing live and to create these flowers for the event!
I must admit... I do enjoy their famous song called "Thrift Shop" :)
The event theme was "Thrift Shop" after the song title. The amazing design team behind Elite Productions International contacted me to bring their vision to life with these Huge Blooms. I had a lot of fun hand painting each flower to match with their decor of vintage inspired furniture and unique 'thrift shop'y accessories.
The guests were encouraged to pull out their funky wardrobes to dress for the theme..
it was a night to remember!

Here's a couple of photos of Macklemore doing his thing (above) with the flowers in the background.

For more info on the Huge Hand Painted Flowers visit: www. FancifulShop.com
I always welcome custom orders and would love to have the opportunity to make your vision come to life for any occasion!

A Vegetable Fascination

I wasn't feeling so inspired this weekend until I came across the work of Maartin Kolk.
I quickly connected with his beliefs that he shares with us in his book
"Bolted Doorgeschoten"

Words from Define Us: Maartin spent his youth in the countryside of the province of Overijssel. Considering the environment of his childhood years, it is not surprising that a subject like bolted vegetables intrigues him.

With this work, he aims to show that flowers, plants, and nature manifest themselves in very different ways. Instead of using plants and flowers as decorations or illustrations, he incorporates nature and its organic properties into the design.

The concept for this publication arose from his fascination with vegetable gardens and the conviction that common everyday things are all too often taken for granted. People eat vegetables everyday, but many of them are ignorant of the origin and growth of vegetable plants.
For this book, he simply let himself be guided by the daily goings-on in his vegetable garden. He observed what happened, and wrote down his findings, registering bolting vegetables with a designer's eye. Proceeding from this conceptual line of approach, he highlighted the unexpected hidden splendor of vegetables and the extraordinary colors and shapes of bolted vegetables. The result is an exceptional photo document with intriguing images.
I would love to have these.. How often do you see them this large??

I enjoy feeling connected with the simple art that surrounds us everyday. This inspired me to appreciate the raw beauty of 'life' and to reflect that towards my daily life. To be 'content' with what I have, how I dress, clutter in my home, and what I feed my body. When my surroundings are pure, I feel more pure. That's when I'm happiest and most inspired.

~Happy Weekend Friends~

Fanciful's New Botanical Candles

Nothing is better than lighting a candle and enjoying a cup of tea to unwind.
I've been searching high and low for a pure rose scent. I came across a premium high quality oil fragrance from France and decided to make some candles with it. I made some for myself, friends and family. Everyone has enjoyed and most requesting another~
The Rose is pure just like dewy rose petals in the garden.
I fell in love with the Fig as well. It's earthy and fresh with a touch of sweetness. I look forward to creating some Lavender, Chamomile and other pure scents. I'm happy to share these with YOU as they're my NEW beautiful addition to Fanciful!

Each come wrapped in natural cheese cloth with a twine bow and a spray of dried botanicals that suit the scent.

Glimpse of Summer

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend ahead as we remember all who have served our country~ Summer is in the air here and the California coast has been picture perfect. After a day of photographing and studying the sea I couldn't help but to paint my memories.
My soul is so connected to the water, I always find peace and happiness there. I crave the smell of salt water and the grainy texture of the sand. Often I find myself pulling out the paint brushes to express my love for this healing place.
The waves have been sculpted from paper and plaster to create a unique 3D effect on canvas. Sculpting allows me to have the freedom to form the oceans movement.
Once the waves are shaped, I carefully paint the sea's hues with acrylics bringing it to life.

I hope you've enjoyed this little glimpse of summer I bring to you~ To view more click HERE

Sending you warm sunny days ahead!

MOM

This morning I went for a walk down at the beach.  I couldn't help but notice an adorable little girl running into her moms arms. She had the biggest smile on her face, she sparkled. Even though the air was cold the moment was so warm and pure.
Her mom beamed as her little girl filled her world.
I flashed back to those days with my mom. She was my world and loved me unconditionally.
Twenty Seven years have passed and she's never stopped being the mom she was when I was little.  Having her in my life everyday is a gift I'll always be so thankful for.
Thank you mom for sharing your world with me.
Wishing all the Mother's and Grandmother's out there a very special day~
Happy Mother's Day!

Love,
Noel

Inspiration

Hello Friends! I hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was full of work but sometimes my work is play too. And yesterday, I played. My creativity was flowing ~ when that happens you have to run with it right? Happily I put my to do's aside and pretended I was creating a window display for ABC Home but really I was creating new introduction images for my website. So here they are!
I took elements from my home and things I love; Nature, Botanicals, Raw Objects, Beautiful Candles, Neutral Colors,  and mixing something new with something old. People ask me often if I decorate my home with my flowers. I do, and I float them under old glass domes ~
So I modified my display for my new images and wanted to share with you!
I was so inspired and sick when I discovered these candles. I fell in LOVE. If I ever created a candle line, this would be it. Well, and a tea fragrance line with real tea blended in the wax. You can find these candles at PEONY and COPPER STRAWBERRY. Two incredible shops, with two lovely owners. They offer the best of everything and more.
My inspiration didn't stop with the floating flowers, I played with the new jewelry I just added to my website. I loved the way the photos turned out so had to share...
Above: Natural Gem Slice Ring & Earrings, Branch Earrings and Petite Silver Drop & Gold Necklace.
Below: Pale Pink Drusy Ring

I hope you enjoy~ Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Happy Easter & Many Thanks

I wanted to thank each and every one of you for supporting me through my journey with
The Martha Stewart Show
*In case you missed it, click the link above to watch video*
We finally made it home from NY.  Even though I love the city, I'm so happy to be home with the ocean air and my cat. Mike and I created memories that we'll never forget. We refused to take a cab or subway so we could take in everything around us.
We walked 10 miles one day and found the most special places.
Having the opportunity to be on show still feels like a dream. When I see a photo of that time or watch the clip I feel like I'm watching someone else. I still can't believe that was me. Thanks to all of you, you made it more real for me. Your comments, emails visits to my blog, website and Facebook put it all in to perspective making me realize how lucky I am. I was extremely nervous, until I walked out from backstage and saw the live audience. I pictured their faces as my friends, family and customers. I suddenly felt at ease as I imagined you were there with me. And that is what kept me calm. Thank you SO much for watching and sharing this journey with me.
You all mean so much to me!
I look forward to sharing more about my trip but until then,
I send you and yours very Happy Easter Wishes~
Lots of love,
Noel
